Our History
EnXL was founded in 2012 by Bruce and Kathy Johnson to deliver innovative solutions to the energy industry. Originally focused on oil and gas processing for upstream producers, EnXL has grown into a provider of full turnkey processing facilities. Starting as engineering consultants, we expanded by adding a construction management team, in-house concrete crew, and lightning protection installers. We later built a strong procurement team to handle purchasing, inventory, and invoice management. Our services now also include mechanical design and expert project management. Throughout our growth, we’ve made Safety, Environmental, Social, and Governance practices a top priority, allowing us to fully support our clients' success.

Bruce Johnson
Bruce Johnson is the CEO and a Founder of EnXL LLC. Prior to founding EnXL LLC in 2012 Bruce had an extensive career in the oil industry that spanned drilling, capital projects, and operations in the US onshore, the Gulf of Mexico, and Egypt. A proud graduate of the University Tulsa with a degree in Petroleum Engineering, Bruce has filed three patents for water processing technology and has partnered with leading innovators to bring the best that the world has to offer to the energy industry.
Kathy Johnson
Kathy Johnson is the President and a Founder of EnXL, LLC. Since its formation in 2012, Kathy has led the development of operational practices and organizational values that shape and guide EnXL. She oversees various corporate and administrative functions. Kathy graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Business Administration and prior to founding EnXL, LLC, managed the business operations of a ranch and horse breeding operation.
Chris Johnson
Chris Johnson is the EVP of EnXL, LLC. He joined EnXL in 2016 to oversee a growing portfolio of oil and gas construction projects and D&C operations. With years of upstream experience specializing in the execution of drilling and construction projects around the world, Chris is an expert in project execution. Chris received his degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
Jim Brooks, P.E.
Jim Brooks is the COO of EnXL, LLC. He joined EnXL in 2024 to oversee oil and gas construction projects, safety, and accounting. Jim has experience in conventional and unconventional play development throughout the US and Algeria. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and an MBA. Jim is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
JoAnn Gandy
With nearly two decades of experience in the oil and gas industry, JoAnn Gandy offers a deep understanding of administrative operations and human resources. Since joining EnXL in 2017, she has advanced through roles including Project Administrator, Business Administrator, and HR Liaison. As an HR Business Partner, she provides strategic guidance on HR policy, employee relations, and compliance, while supporting the CEO and President on high-level initiatives. JoAnn also oversees IT operations and key business account relationships. Her collaborative approach ensures HR strategies align with company goals, driving efficiency, engagement, and a strong workplace culture.
Richard Caro, CSWP, CSWA
With over 15 years of experience in Mechanical Design and Drafting, Richard brings deep technical expertise and hands-on knowledge to his role as Design Manager at EnXL. Specializing in SolidWorks, he leads a team of designers in transforming initial concepts — ranging from napkin sketches to P&IDs – into fully developed 3D models of production facilities. Richard is passionate about turning ideas into functional, efficient designs and takes pride in mentoring his team to deliver innovative solutions that support safe and effective operations.
Matt Grasha
Matt Grasha is an Engineering Manager at EnXL, LLC. He joined EnXL® in 2022 to oversee and assist in D&C operations of producing and SWD wells, operations of oil and gas producing properties and oil and gas construction projects. For the last 43 years, Matt has primarily worked in the Permian Basin. Matt received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Matt is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
Doug Frederick
Doug Frederick brings over 45 years of experience in drilling and well operations. Since joining EnXL, LLC in June 2022 as Drilling Manager, he has overseen the drilling and completion of more than 30 wells, along with numerous workovers and recompletions. Doug is known for his strong focus on safe operations, cost-effective wellbore execution, and continuous improvement. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Cody Rimer
Cody Rimer brings over 20 years of oil and gas industry experience, with a strong background in Non-Destructive Testing and Quality Control. After graduating from Odessa High School in 1998, he began working in the oilfield in 2004 and earned Level II certifications in Radiography, UT Thickness, Magnetic Particle, and Dye Penetrant testing. From 2014 to 2022, Cody focused on QA/QC inspections of pipelines, storage tanks, and pressure vessels, and holds a NACE Level 1 Coating Inspector certification. He most recently served as Quality Manager at a pressure vessel manufacturing company before joining EnXL in 2022.
Armando Marin
Armando Marin is a seasoned Supply Chain Supervisor at EnXL, bringing nearly three decades of experience in the oil and gas industry. A native Midlander, Armando has cultivated a strong foundation in Quality Control Management, Project Management, and compliance with API standards. His extensive background includes conducting and leading audits as a certified auditor, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to industry regulations. With 29 years of hands-on experience, Armando is known for his strategic oversight, commitment to continuous improvement, and deep understanding of supply chain dynamics in the energy sector.
Senior Team
Eric Fonte
Eric Fonte joined EnXL in 2023 as a Project Coordinator and was promoted to Project Manager in 2025. He holds a B.S. In Industrial Technology from the University of Texas Permian Basin and earned his PMP certification in August 2025. Eric has quickly become a key contributor to the team, leveraging his technical knowledge and project management expertise to successfully oversee various projects.
Frank Savage
Frank Savage brings 18 years of Safety experience to EnXL. He has worked for Operators, Drilling, Wireline, and Oilfield service companies. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health and previously served for 21 years in the Army as a Chemical Operations Specialist. His extensive background and commitment to safety make him a valuable asset to EnXL and our 0 recordable incident rate.
Anthony Martinez
Anthony Martinez is EnXL, LLC’s Senior Process Engineer IV. He joined EnXL® in late 2024 to pursue new endeavors in the oil and gas industry focusing on gas processing as well as bringing “new” ideas to the standard production oil facility. With extensive years in gas processing and “unique” experience specializing in numerous projects around the world. Anthony holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University.
