Supply Chain Manager

Full Time (40hrs/wk)
Midland, TX

Summary: 

The Supply Chain Manager (SCM) will manage the purchase, movement, storage, warehousing, and distribution of materials and equipment in support of upstream oil and gas construction projects and drilling operations. The SCM will provide company and project managers with financial and quantity forecasting and suggested actions. The SCM will lead activities to limit costs for company and clients, improve overall supply chain performance, and deliver exceptional customer service. The SCM will be responsible for the performance of the supply chain team including procurement agents, warehouse managers, delivery personnel, and inventory controllers.    

 

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Establish purchasing and inventory policies and ensure compliance.  

  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors and service providers.  

  • Develop new supply sources.   

  • Determine appropriate equipment and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.  

  • Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost or quality.  

  • Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during the time period.   

  • Ensures tracking all delivery acceptance documents to ensure adherence to policy and accuracy to original order.  

  • Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.  

  • Develops lasting relationships with client personnel and seeks to further relationships through quality service delivery and the successful execution of projects.  

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop supply chain team members.   

  • Responsible for the performance of the supply chain team.  

  • Provide supply chain support for multiple projects and clients simultaneously.   

  • Identify and suggest opportunities for improvements to supply chain to improve the company’s performance.  

  • Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.  

  • Evaluate and select information or other technology solutions to improve tracking and reporting of materials or products distribution, storage, or inventory.  

  • Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.  

  • Diagram supply chain models to help facilitate discussions with customers.  

  • Identify and prioritize strategic cost savings opportunities.  

  • Implement new or improved supply chain processes to improve efficiency or performance.  

  • Find cross-industry supply chain management practices to implement to improve performance and competitiveness of the company.  

  • Analyze information about supplier performance or procurement program success.  

  • Design, suggest and implement supply chain processes to support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.  

  • Design, implement, or oversee product take back or reverse logistics programs to ensure products are recycled, reused, or responsibly disposed.  

  • Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes and predict effects on supply chain activities.  

  • Design or implement warehousing strategies for production materials or finished products.  

  • Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes.  

  • Participate in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.  

  • Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service. 

 

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline 

  • Five or more years’ experience performing relevant essential functions 

  • Professional Certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, Change Management (preferred

Work Location:

Full time Midland, Texas office with frequent visits to local warehouses, vendor and supplier shop, and project work sites. 

Travel: 

This position may require day travel to the surrounding areas, Midland County, Pecos County, Reeves County for meetings with vendors and service providers. Occasional overnight travel is possible.
