PIPELINE PROJECT MANAGER

Summary: 

Supervises pipeline construction from the bid and initial planning and design phase to construction and project completion. Includes engineering, design, procurement, material transfer, supervision of construction crew, high level of communication, budgets and cost tracking, and reporting.

 

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, use relevant industry practices, construction standards, welding procedures, and OSHA rules and regulations.

  • Set an example of safe work practices to customers, suppliers, contractors and company employees. Identifies and corrects hazardous conditions and/or practices.

  • Drive process and construction safety management in the design and construction of new and existing projects.

  • Generate budget, maintain daily cost control and report weekly.

  • Manage Procurement of Pipeline materials.

  • Manage the daily activities, roles, and responsibilities of assigned pipeline construction so projects are completed successfully, and objectives are achieved.

  • Utilize exceptional knowledge of pipeline building/construction specifications for all projects

  • Provide input, supervision and direction during the planning, pre-construction, construction, and startup, of new pipelines, facilities and existing facility modification in coordination with engineering, I&E, and operations teams.

  • Establishes and maintains appropriate procedures and documentation of design, operation, and maintenance of equipment in accordance with regulatory and industry standards

  • Assist in review of projects to ensure design and methods are based upon sound construction principals; that concepts, costs and time schedules are reasonably well developed, and projects will ultimately accomplish the stated objectives.

  • Work with limited supervision.

  • Lead company employees and contract crews during the course of construction. .

  • Maintains productive and cooperative working relationships with all project resources so that project requirements are met.

  • Coordinates with outside service providers, contractors, and others to accomplish the company’s goals for project execution and/or safe and efficient asset operation.

  • Prepare daily/weekly status reports for management.

  • Comply with API, NACE, AGA, etc.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree (preferred)

  • Minimum experience level five years pipeline construction/project management experience (from concept to start-up).

  • Experience in pipeline construction codes and requirements.

  • Fluent Bilingual (preferred)

  • Ability to multi-task; perform highly detailed work under changing, intensive deadlines.

  • Ability to draw, read, and understand engineer designs, schematics, diagrams and prints.

  • Exhibits strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant technology in using programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Procore (or similar construction/project management software) and Outlook.

  • General construction knowledge – (welding, excavation, shoring and trenching, lifting equipment, concrete, steel fabrication, confined space, etc.).

  • Working knowledge of industry standards and practices applicable to the construction of pipeline.

  • The job may also involve participating on unscheduled call-outs and extended workdays and/or workweeks.

  • Possesses strong leadership, supervisory and management abilities.

  • Displays attention to detail and documentation, quality control analysis, resource management.

  • Provides excellent critical thinking, trouble shooting, complex problem solving, good judgement, and is an effective time manager.

  • Presents strong social perceptiveness and service orientation.

Travel: 

This position requires regional travel for project assignments, meetings, and training, and possible overnight stays.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

Additional relevant technical education and/or certifications a plus
