Shipping, Receiving & Logistics Coordinator

Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.


Job Responsibilities:  

  • Receive and examine shipments and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or purchase orders to verify accuracy. 

  • Assist in unloading incoming shipments. 

  • Unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.

  • Store materials and supplies in an orderly manner in warehouse(s), supply rooms and yards, or other areas, to maintain inventory and accessibility. 

  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location, based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities. 

  • Prepare documents, such as purchase orders, delivery tickets, or shipping orders to appropriately route materials. 

  • May pick up materials and supplies from local suppliers. 

  • Pack, seal, or label to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools. 

  • Record shipment data for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes. 

  • Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications. 

  • Prepare materials and supplies for shipping. 

  • Assist with unloading and loading trucks and trailers.

  • Contact driver(s) to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials. 

  • May determine shipping methods, routes and rates for materials to be shipped. 

  • Examine and inspect items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.

  • Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or on computer. 

  • Mark stock items, using identification tags, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment. 

  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors. 

  • Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming distribution requisitions. 

  • Provide assistance, information, or direction to other warehouse or storage yard workers. 

  • Dispose of damaged or defective items or return them to vendors. 

  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations. 

  • Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock. 

  • Maintain and keep records on the use of stock-handling equipment. 

  • Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods transported. 

  • Determine products, supplies, equipment for assembly or manufacturing is completed timely. 

  • Confer with engineering and procurement personnel and vendors regarding stock availability and delivery dates and locations. 

  • Works closely with procurement department to receive delivered materials in a timely manner. 

  • Ensure delivery drivers transporting materials from warehouse to job sight have proper delivery tickets and instructions on location, including GPS Coordinates.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 

  • Some college or Associate Degree, or three years in a shipping, receiving and transportation logistics or related field preferred.   

  • Knowledge of oil and gas materials and good for facility construction.

  • Mathematics, Reading Comprehension.

  • Intermediate computer skills and excel.

  • Fluent Bilingual.

This position may occasional require regional travel, meetings, and training, and possible overnight stays. The job may also involve participating on unscheduled call-outs and extended workdays and/or workweeks.



Indoor/Outdoor setting in all types of weather. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds, and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance, if requested. Repetitive movement, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, standing, walking and running. Frequently walking, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Noise and dust.
