Draftsman

Full or Part Time
Midland, TX

Summary: 

The draftsman is responsible for creating 3D and 2D renderings of engineering designs and for creating construction job books with sufficient detail and accuracy for the manufacturing of equipment and the construction of various oil and gas facilities. The draftsman will work with engineers, project managers, and construction managers to deliver legible drawings to aid in construction. The draftsman is responsible for managing change requests, tracking revisions, and maintaining a well-organized digital library of drawings.    

 

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for creating 3D drawings using in house standard components. 

  • Responsible for creating 2D fabrication and construction drawings. 

  • Responsible for data management of all drawings. 

  • Responsible for organizing and distributing project drawings for review, approval, and use. 

  • Responsible for maintaining and updating drawings in Procore. 

  • Assist procurement in maintaining common bills of material with part numbers and price estimates. Assist project manager in performing design and constructability reviews, as well as 3D model reviews with clients. 

  • Work with manufacturers to determine design changes to accommodate manufacturing limits. 

  • Assist project manager in reviewing drawings with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Create construction job packets, digitally and physically. 

  • Create 3D models and lead model reviews with clients.

Requirements:  

  • Relevant Associates or bachelor's degree 

  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas Equipment and Materials (preferred) 

  • Able to perform Mechanical Design and Piping Design 

  • Advanced SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and DraftSight abilities 

  • SolidWorks – Associate Certificate (CSWA) preferred 

Work Location:

Full time in an office in Midland, Texas. Occasional travel to clients or job site.

Travel: 

Local travel to surrounding areas day trips only.  No overnight travel anticipated.
