Construction Engineer

A construction engineer is responsible for ensuring the construction of upstream production facilities is done according to the technical design, technical specifications, and company standards. The construction engineer will work with construction manager, superintendent, or foreman to direct daily activities. The construction engineer is responsible for ensure that projects are fully constructed pursuant to engineering design, on schedule, and tested for operations.     


Job Responsibilities:  

  • Understands oil and gas production processes and equipment. 

  • Assists in the design of construction projects. 

  • Assists in the development of project execution plans. 

  • Coordinates constructability reviews. 

  • Reviews BOMs for accuracy. 

  • Schedules work crews and equipment. 

  • Maintains tools and equipment for construction crews. 

  • Schedules daily construction activities. 

  • Explains safety requirements, design requirements, and work procedures to crews. 

  • Communicates daily progress status to project manager. 

  • Maintains progress reports and punch lists. 

  • Identifies process improvements. 

  • Performs quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with design. 

  • Identifies and mitigates the safety and environmental risks associated with the work. 

  • Assists in the commissioning of the facility. 

  • Able to adjust execution plan based on resource restrictions. 

  • Plans and coordinates with logistics for materials delivery. 


  • Bachelor’s Degree (e.g. Civil, Chemical, Construction, Construction Management, Electrical, Industrial, Safety, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering Technology). 

  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas Production Processes and Equipment 

  • Knowledge of Construction Best Practices 

  • Project Manage, PMP (preferred) 

Work Location:

Predominately outdoors at job sites. Frequent travel to Midland, Texas office.


This position requires regional travel for project assignments, meetings, and training, and possible overnight stays. The job may also involve participating on unscheduled call-outs and extended workdays and/or workweeks.
